The room morphed into something I’d never seen before, and I too was swallowed into its metamorphosis. The disappearing room and I became one indivisible blur. As suddenly as a thought leaves the mind, the room was gone, and I stared directly into a black sky adorned with stars whose sparkle was inconsequential.
I’ll describe this again so that you can understand the absurdity of what was happening. The physical structure didn’t collapse, nor did the building cave into the earth. It just seemed to merge itself seamlessly into the universe. When the union was complete, I started to separate from my bed in the same way that the room had separated itself from the earth. I was gliding toward the blackened sky. Not really flying but drifting upwards as if being hoisted by an invisible rope tied around my torso. Without blinking, I stared deeply into the approaching sky and allowed whatever was happening to continue. I had no interest to resist. Let it take me and do as it pleased.
